Unfortunately today is Valentine’s day and I am no where near the ones that I love the most!!! However, yesterday I had a relaxing afternoon watching the movie “one day”. I found myself in tears for the rest of the night, because I was so caught off guard at how similar my life is to Emma’s life in the film. She was a strong woman who lived her life for herself, but found love in her best friend without ever pushing him to change his life. Even when she got tired of his lifestyle or realized that they both wanted different things.
We all suffer from thinking about that one person that always seems to be in our thoughts no matter what state of mind that we may be in, no matter the distance and no matter who you are with at that very moment. Before I left the states I found myself falling pretty hard for someone, but I knew that I was going to have to say goodbye for six months and everything had to be put on hold. This is life and you cannot always get what you want, but everyone has to remember that you cannot find love and you most certainly cannot sit around waiting for it. Love must find you and life is something that you have to continue to live for yourself until you find someone that respects you and the life that you live so that you can share it together. What I learnt from the movie (or what I was reminded of) is that no one is perfect, but you have to share your life with someone who loves everything about you and makes you feel as if there is no such word as flaw or failure.
